This event is a fundraiser for the new Shreveport Chapter of Project Healing Waters. PHW, Inc. is an organization dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and Veterans through fly fishing, fly tying education, and outings.

Fly tiers from across the region will be demonstrating the fine art of fly tying. There are terrific raffle items as well:

12 boxes of flies from the tyers at the event

The Ark-La-Tex Tie-in was one of the best fly fishing events I've attended in a long time.  It had great tiers, great fun and tons of camaraderie.  The tie-in made a whopping $3,000 for the new Project Healing Waters Chapter.  Mike Hawkins did a great job organizing the event and many others pitched in to make it a success.
